Psychotherapy Approach: While it is a profoundly human experience to resist or avoid what’s uncomfortable, doing so can be exhausting and often moves us away from the life that we want to live. My intention as a therapist is to empower my clients find more effective and flexible ways of relating to their struggles so that they can reconnect with the life they find most meaningful. I often work with clients who are struggling to harness the motivation they need to move towards their goals or who feel stuck in trying to overcome rigid patterns of avoidance. I believe in examining the function of our choices and behaviours in order to determine what is most workable in the context of our lives. I believe in empowering my clients to develop new skills and to create change based on their internal resources. I use mindfulness-based interventions to find new ways of engaging with rigid patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and to help facilitate the desired changes in one’s life.

I believe in offering evidence-based care to my clients and over the years have prioritized my professional development as a clinician. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also integrate other evidence-based approaches in my practice, including interventions from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and principles from attachment theory, in order to meet the needs of my clients.

Areas of Practice I work with a wide range of client populations and presenting issues. I currently offer services to individuals, couples, and groups. My common areas of practice include developing skills for managing symptoms related to ADHD, Motivation, Procrastination, Skills for Time Management/Organization/Planning (including for University Students), Anxiety, Social Anxiety and Shyness, Depression, Grief and Loss, Navigating Life Transitions, Relationship Issues, Self-Esteem, Stress Management, Shame/Self-Criticism, Perfectionism. I am passionate about offering services to support clients with ADHD in Ontario. I have facilitated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy groups for Adults with ADHD focused on developing skills related to time management, organization, and planning. I have also enjoyed sharing my perspective on ways to integrate ACT interventions when working with individuals with ADHD.
